Our Story
How Bible Prodigies Started
...but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior, because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
- 1 Peter 1:15-16 WEB
Bible Prodigies began with a simple desire.
When my son was born, my husband and I made one clear decision:
We wanted to raise our child with a strong foundation in the Bible—even though we didn’t know where to start.
Then life changed.
The pandemic hit. Our church closed. There were riots everywhere.
And we made the difficult decision to move to a different state.
We sold almost everything we owned and started over with little more than our clothes and whatever we could fit in the car.
As I rebuilt our home, I focused on my son’s room.
I didn’t want decoration alone—I wanted something with meaning.
Something that would give him identity, direction, and foundation.
I hung three large frames on his wall.
But they stayed empty for years because I couldn’t find anything like that.
During that time, I tried every tool I could find to help my son memorize Scripture—flashcards, books, and resources.
Nothing worked. Everything was designed for readers, and my son was too young, too active, and too curious to sit still.
Eventually, I became frustrated and let it go.
Until one day, standing in his room, I decided to create what I couldn’t find—originally just to finish decorating his space.
My son loved space, superheroes, and color.
The first poster was space—the planets and the earth—with Genesis 1:1 at the center:
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
I wanted him to know his reality had a Creator.
The second poster was about direction—the Greatest Commandment—illustrated with him dressed as Spider-Man in the center.
Three simple visual cues:
A heart.
A mind.
Strength.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” (Deuteronomy 6:5)
To see himself and to know that commandment was written for him.
The third poster showed Jesus, surrounded by superheroes, telling the story of how He defeated death and saved the world—centered on this truth:
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
Along with the other “I AM” statements from the Gospel of John.
At night, I began quoting the verses with him before bed.
Just one week later, something incredible happened.
My son quoted his first three verses.
That’s when I realized the problem wasn’t my son—it was the tools.
After that, it took me two years to complete 100 verses.
But to my surprise, my son memorized all of them in just three months.
Those frames became the beginning of Bible Prodigies.
What started as a mother trying to teach her child the Bible became a new way for children to see Scripture, remember it, and build their identity in it.
